Definition

Wooden or metal dowell-shaped item used to strike a drum, also known as a drumstick. The typical drumstick is comprised of the bead (tip), the neck, the taper, the body and the butt. Sticks that are used for tuned percussion instruments are typically called mallets.
Slang term for the conductor's baton.
