A
performance group of four
brass musicians (usually two
trumpets, a
horn, and a
trombone). The
brass quartet is not limited to this combination of
instruments and
composers will often create optional
parts to accommodate various combinations. The most common variation would replace the
horn with a
trombone or
euphonium. Another common combination is two
trumpets, a
trombone and a
tuba.
